MALTA SURVEYS REQUIRED ON BOARD YOUR YACHT
All commercial yachts are required to be surveyed, certified and maintained in accordance to their respective category requirements in order to maintain the validity of their Certificate of Compliance to Trade as Commercial Yacht.

Initial survey : for entry into flag. carried out on or before first registration.
Consists of a full inspection of the yacht to ascertain compliance with Malta regulations.
Renewal survey : carried out within 3 months prior to the expiry of the Certificate to trade as Commercial Yacht.
usually every 5 years.
Annual survey : Any commercial Yacht above 24m must carry out annual surveys. Annual survey shall be carried out within 3 months before or after each anniversary date.
Intermediate Survey : For yachts under 24m an intermediate survey must be carry out between the 2nd and the 3rd year from initial/renewal survey.
